Kimbel Library Poetry Slam

Welcome back students! When visiting the Kimbel Library this semester, be sure to check out the new poetry written by CCU students. The poetry is framed and hangs on the wall to your right as you enter the library.

These student-authored poems were published by The Paul Rice Poetry Broadside Series. The series is named in honor and memory of Paul Rice, professor of English at Coastal Carolina from 1987 to 2004. If you are interested in submitting your poetry for publication in this series, visit the English Department's website. If you are interested in reading some great poetry, come to the Kimbel Library!

New Resource Available

CultureGrams is a new database that is available to you through DISCUS. It is a great resource for education majors to use when creating lesson plans in subject areas such as geography, world cultures, U.S. States, and the Canadian provinces and territories. The Kids Edition allows students to explore daily life in countries around the world. It would also be a useful resource for anyone to find general cultural information on more than 200 countries.
