National Library Week Question of the Day

1. Find the database called ARTstor. (Hint: databases are found on the Library's web page under "Articles and E-resources")
2.Find a painting by Edgar Degas.
3.Tell us the title of the painting that you have found.

National Library Week is a time to remind others about the contribution libraries, librarians and library workers make to their communities every day.

Edible Book Fair!
12:00- 2:00
All Coastal Carolina University faculty, staff, and students are welcome to submit their own creations. Submissions will be displayed in the library from 12:00-2:00 while Students, faculty, and staff vote for their favorite book. Cake will be served for all to enjoy!


Wednesday, April 14th
Pizza and Crafts!
12:00-2:00
Pizza and Origami: A match made in ...??? Well, Kimbel Library is going to make it work! Come on in, sit down, and enjoy some pizza while making simple crafts like origami as well as paper marbling and wish bracelets. Let the folding and eating BEGIN!


Thursday, April 15th
Play it up Game Night!
4:00-9:00
Everyone is welcome to this gaming extravaganza! Four big projection screens will be used for Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360. Not a gamer? No problem. We will also have board games, cards, and puzzles. Bring your own games to play, or just use ours. Just BRING IT!

Library website gets a facelift!



Kimbel Library got a new look last week!

Changes include:

* Library hours at the top of the page.
* Soothing teal background.
* Quick links to our Facebook, Blogger, Pulp and Pixels and Twitter sites.
* New, consolidated departmental webpages.

Database Trial: ShipIndex.org



Kimbel Library has a trial subscription to the ShipIndex.org online database through the end of April. ShipIndex.org "tells you which books, magazines, and online resources mention the vessels you're researching. With 143,937 entries in the free database and 1,279,773 entries available with premium access, you're bound to find useful information here." You can check out the database here: http://0-shipindex.org.library.coastal.edu/ and then please fill out the trial database evaluation form to let us know what you think.
