Wide open spaces at the library!

Have you been to Kimbel Library yet this semester? When you visit you will see the result of hard work from some of your fellow students, Kimbel Library staff, and several other groups across campus!

We needed to make the library more navigable and accessible by moving the tables and shelves farther apart. This was an intensive job, and a major part of this involved:

  1. Unloading all of the books from shelves
  2. Moving the shelves
  3. Reloading all of the books
  4. Repeating this for all of the books in the library!
Kimbel Library welcomed the the excellent assistance of the Coastal Carolina University Cheerleaders, Zeta Phi Beta, CAI Lab students, the facilities maintenance department and their student assistants, and of course our own student assistants. Other faculty and staff also stopped by to lend a hand when they could. We couldn't have accomplished this without all of the hard work, enthusiasm, and teamwork that everybody provided.
